"Simply put, we can’t keep preparing students for a world that doesn’t exist. We can’t keep ignoring the formidable cognitive skills they’re developing on their own. And above all, we must stop disparaging digital prowess just because some of us over 40 don’t happen to possess it. An institutional grudge match with the young can sabotage an entire culture."
I strongly agree with statement because it makes perfect sense. Why should we continue to try to prepared todays children for yesterdays world? Its pointless and a waiste of time, money, and resources to pretend that technology isn't a huge part of todays society or that the impact of technology isn't going to continue to grow. Older people may have not had the gadgets and tools that are presented to children today but simply put they are here now so they should be used.
